About us

TRAILAR is an innovative new business that specialises in solar transport solutions for commercial vehicles. The organisation has offices in Oldham and, Rugby.. We originate from an idea put forward in a start-up lab programme run by our parent company, Deutsche Post DHL (DPDHL).

The idea is a simple one, putting solar panels on the roofs of vehicles to reduce carbon emissions, save fuel and reduce maintenance costs. The timing couldn’t be better: the technology has reached maturity; the market is ready. TRAILAR have the financial backing needed to seize market share quickly and is doing so with great pace.

After a couple of years of research & development and business model validation, we achieved significant funding from DPDHL and became incorporated as an independent business in September 2018. Ramp-up activity started in early 2019, with a number product launches into the global marketplace ever since. In the first 18 months months we have grown from the founding Directors to a team of 37. This growth is set to accelerate as we address this sizeable opportunity in front of us. To fuel this growth, we need talented, enthusiastic and capable people to make their best contribution. In return we can guarantee interesting projects, lots of opportunity and a vibrant, fast paced team environment.
